First Aid At Work Course

The First Aid at Work (statutory) course complies with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course rewards successful attendees with a First Aiders in the workplace 3 year certificate. All UK employers have a legal obligation to provide First Aid for their employees. Attendees will develop the confidence to handle any First Aid emergency. It is ideal for you if you are going to be a nominated First Aider in the workplace - or if you want the most comprehensive introduction to First Aid.

  • First Aid At Work Refresher Course

    People who want to renew a valid First Aid at Work course will appreciate the ability to update and refresh their knowledge, with allowances for revision and practice sessions in readiness for a final assessment.

    If your current First Aid at Work certificate is nearing its expiry, but you are confident in your general grasp of First Aid technique, this course is for you. It tests whether you are still competent to hold a certificate. The course must commence before your FAW certificate expires.

    This course is designed for organisations, usually small businesses, where there is no legal requirement for First Aiders but there is an appointed person to take charge in case of injury or other First Aid emergency.

    Fully certified First Aid personnel in larger organisations can also benefit from the additional support from these Appointed Persons. Those who are nominated persons or who provide support to certified First Aiders. This is ideal for basic lifesaving First Aid and the relevant regulations.

  • First Aid Skills Update / Practice Session

    This course provides an opportunity for First Aiders in the workplace to practice and refresh their skills at any point during their 3 year period as a qualified First Aider. This keeps them prepared for an emergency.

    Its recommended practice to attend this course at least once during the three year period that the First Aid at Work certificate is in effect. It is suitable for anyone holding a current First Aid at Work certificate. The session builds expertise and confidence by involving First Aiders in realistic situations with simulated casualties.

  • Manual Handling

    Back injury is the major reason for absence from the workplace. The cost of these injuries to business and the economy as a whole is immense, and for those people affected the cost is immeasurable. Manual Handling Regulations place a duty on every employer to reduce the potential injury from manual handling operations, and by training all staff to lift and carry objects safely, a company can reduce its costs in the long run. All companies should consider manual handling training as part of each new employee's induction.

    Food hygiene is important to everyone. Good habits will protect food against being contaminated or infected by germs.

    Commercial Safety Services Basic Food Hygiene course cover the basic principles so employees can assess their workplace situation and reduce the risks as much as possible. Attendees will learn how to handle and store different food types so that the risks are reduced.

    Fire Safety is important to everyone. Good housekeeping will help prevent fires, staff should also be trained in what to do in the event of a fire and when & how to use fire fighting equipment.

    Commercial Safety Services Fire Safety course covers the basic principles so employees can assess their workplace situation and reduce the risks as much as possible. Attendees will learn how to evacuate your premises in a safe and timely manner.

  • DSE (VDU) Workstations

    Display Screen Equipment (DSE) or VDU's are increasingly becoming a part of every day life for employees.

    Under The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 it is the employers reponsibility to carry out a Risk Assessment of the Display Screen Equipment of all users, including those that work from home. Especially important are frequent laptop users.
